Well at least he was apologetic about having done it.

Of course, technically speaking (ahem) if you were to follow the fictional, future timeline in which his ditty takes place, it's preposterous to think James Kirk had anything to do with the Naming of DS9! He would have been dead in his own time line and simultaneously trapped in the Nexus thus leaving him unable to communicate any naming preferences. That of course is if we assume to ignore the implications of any chronitons and/or temporal anomalies.

I'll bet he searched long and hard to find something else in the Trek universe to rhyme with 'work.' I'll admit to spending a little time thinking about it myself...

Oh. We're both wrong. The thing that's only the business of J.T.K. is the renaming of "New Vulcan" as "Romulus."
